Additional Information
I want to make your experience truly relaxing and restful.
If you would like my expert advise to help you to select the most appropriate treatment for you, please give me a call, as I will be happy to advise.
On the day
Please arrive ON the time of your appointment to reduce the cross over with other clients. My guidelines will be sent to you prior to your appointment on your confirmation email. If you are late for your appointment, your treatment time may have to be reduced in consideration for the next client or a fee will be charged if the time allowed is missed.
I suggest you wear comfortable clothing. Please do not wear anything delicate for a massage appointment as the massage oils used may damage them.
It’s recommend that you refrain from eating heavy meals within one hour prior to receiving a body treatment and avoid alcohol.
Please drink a good amount of water prior to your treatment and try to limit tea, coffee and cigarettes.
Please wear underwear for treatments to protect your modesty.
Pre Treatment Advice
Take a deep breath, exhale and leave all your worries outside the door. This way, you will truly feel all healing benefits from your treatment.
I want you to relax and enjoy your treatment and would be grateful if you ensured that your mobile phone was switched off during treatments.
I will ask you to complete a consultation form prior to your appointment but if you have any specific health issues please call me to discuss this with me and I can advise. If you are pregnant please inform me before your booking and I can advise you on the best treatment for you. I also do not recommend that alcohol is consumed prior to treatments.
There is no pressure to talk during your treatment. Being quiet can enhance your relaxation during the treatment as I understand and respect this.
However, if you have any questions or would like to talk, certainly do so, I will let you be my guide.
Post Treatment Advice
I always recommend that you drink plenty of water following a treatment, to help flush out released toxins.
Following some of the treatments, you may have a healing reaction and may feel tired or even a little emotional. This is perfectly normal, so try and relax for the rest of the day.
You may experience a little soreness the day after a firm massage, particularly if this is your first massage or you do not have this treatment often.
If you are concerned about anything following your treatment then please don’t hesitate to call me and I will be happy to assist & advise where possible.

Facials

- Avoid heat treatments (Including hot baths and showers) for 12 / 24 hours.
- Avoid UV exposure and any heat treatments such as saunas & steam rooms for 24 hours.
- Avoid touching the area for 24 hours.
- Avoid exercise (anything that makes you sweat) for 24 hours.
- Do not use products containing AHA’s or glycolic for 3 days prior to or 7 days after facial treatment.
- We recommend that for 12-24 hours nothing should be put on the skin, e.g. Make up, cleansers, moisturiser etc.
Manicure & Pedicure
The following aftercare advice for you to take in consideration after your treatment for the rest of the day and at home in the future:
- Leave adequate time for nails to dry before leaving the salon
- Apply hand cream and foot cream at least twice a day
- Wear gloves to protect nails when doing house work and other manual duties, also helps to prolong the varnish
- Apply solar cuticle oil or cream to your cuticles regularly
- Use non acetone nail varnish remover
- Use nail file to smooth off any sharp nails or chips
- Make sure you dry your feet thoroughly after they are wet and don’t forget in between your toes.
We also offer shellac nails, this is a polish that can last up to 2-3 weeks. It doesn’t chip like normal polish and is completely dry before you leave the salon. This is handy if you work a lot with your hands. Aftercare advice for shellac is to regularly moisturise nails on hands and feet with cream or oil and have the gel removed professionally at a salon to avoid damaging the natural nails.
Massage
The following after-care advice for you to take in consideration after your treatment.
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and keep you hydrated.
- Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol and Cigarettes.
- Herbal Teas can be drank as an alternative to tea & coffee.
- Eat a light meal only for the next few hours.
- Further relaxation is advised.
- Leaving the essential oils used on the skin for as long as possible allows the benefits of the oils to work through your body.
However, If you notice any irritation on the skin, shower immediately.
Hot baths will help reduce any soreness felt after your massage.
Reflexology
For the next 24 hours:
- Drink lots of water as this will help hydrate the body and flush out any toxins. It will also help to improve energy levels
- Avoid any tea or coffee also spicy foods, as these are stimulants and will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment
- Don’t eat a heavy meal for the rest of the day try to eat lightly
- Rest and relax to prolong the benefits of the treatment.
After your reflexology or reiki treatment healing reactions may occur, this however is nothing to worry about. It is perfectly normal as it is mainly due to the toxins being released from the body, as the body is re-balancing and cleansing itself. If you have any doubts or feel unsure about any reactions please do not hesitate to contact me for more advice. The following is a list of common reactions:
- Feeling tired, yawning, watery eyes, suggest early night or a lie down
